The Conversa Spanish Language School sits on a hillside overlooking the town of Santa Ana, just six miles outside of San Jose, Costa Rica. What was once a dairy farm and a Peace Corps Volunteer language training center has become a six-acre campus with three small lodges, a 45-foot swimming pool, 25 small classrooms, a cafeteria (yes, the food is home cooked and great!), an administrative building, a basketball hoop, paddle tennis court, a ping pong table, a tv lounge, walking trails, monkeys, etc...While Conversa is no longer a Peace Corps language training center, they have maintained the Peace Corps model for language training and boast a 4:1 (at the most) student-to-teacher ratio, focusing heavily on experiential learning both on-campus and in host family living environments. Additionally, Conversa has a travel center on their campus, so that they can help you book your weekend trips across the Costa Rican countryside!
