Program Description
Teaching in Australia is avaliable for candidates in the School of Education during the intern year.
Candidates teach for three weeks in the Camp Hill area, of Brisbane, QLD, Australia, and are supervised by School of Education faculty. The EC-6 candidates teach in the Camp Hill Infant and Primary State School. Middle School and Secondary Candidates teach in the Whites Hill State College. The school experience begins on arrival in Brisbane after a weekend orientation.
Candidates live in an apartment while in Brisbane. A Trans Link Bus Pass is provided for travel to and from school, and a food allowance is provided while in Brisbane.
Five days are designated for independent travel in Australia. Candidates may schedule trips in the country or remain in the Brisbane area. Popular places to visit include Sydney, Cairnes and the Great Barrier Reef, Melbourne, Uluru, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast.  Independent travel is not included in the cost of the trip.

Please Note: All students applying for this program must be in their intern year in the Teacher Education Program. Applications are available during the second semester of your intern teaching year.
