Location:

Bochum has a population of some 400,000 inhabitants and is situated in the Ruhr-area, the economic nerve center of western Germany. It is a very vivid city with a lot of cultural and sportive activities, complemented by the large student population.

Being an industrial town historically, Bochum still has a lot of parks and green spots. The University is located at the border of a little valley, not far from a lake: 'Kemnader See.' The cultural scene in Bochum is quite unique. Bochum has one of Germany's best known theaters and there are various museums.
